Summer at St. Mary's
Things tend to slow down quite a bit during the summer, especially on a college campus. However, with several students sticking around Nacogdoches for summer school and work, we aren't at a complete stand-still at St. Mary's! On Tuesday nights, we have been going through a Bible Study Class called "Genesis to Jesus," a study published by the St. Paul Center for Biblical Studies. The class is open not only to students, but also to members of the Nacogdoches community. The study lasts for 7 weeks and takes students on a crash course through the scriptures - beginning at Creation and ending with the New Covenant made by Christ. Wednesday evenings have been reserved for a co-ed Bible Study on St. Paul's epistle to the Romans. Typically 4-5 students come, making for a lively discussion!
In addition to continuing to help form students who have stayed in Nacogdoches, the summer is always a great opportunity to prepare for the next school year. Between putting together the calendar, planning fall outreach, and preparing for RCIA and Confirmation, the summer is a lot busier than you might think! One of the most exciting things we do over the summer is meet incoming SFA students at summer orientation. Almost every
we set up a table with the other Campus Ministries and talk with new students and their parents about opportunities to get involved at St. Mary's. We have already met some incredible students who are excited to get involved with the ministry - we can't wait to see them more this fall! Please pray for them as they prepare for this new chapter of their lives.
