Dorian Arellano is a native Texan! He hails from the great city of Georgetown, just north of Austin. He graduated from the University of Texas in 2014 with a BA in Economics. He was shocked to find out that he would spend his first year as a missionary at the University of Oklahoma but came to realize that he loved the university but more importantly loved the students that he went there to serve. He knows he will have the same experience as he moves into his second year with FOCUS, now at SFA! Dorian loves to play sports and play music. He will do anything that involves a ball or running around and competing. He also plays several different instruments, his favorite being the violin. His other hobbies include: card games, learning foreign languages, video games, attending musicals and walking barefoot (when appropriate).
My name is Nathan Deal and I am currently serving my third year as a FOCUS Missionary at Stephen F. Austin. I was born in N.C. and moved around a bit until settling in Norman, OK where I lived for 15 years before becoming a missionary. I studied at several different schools before attending a trade school where I became certified as a Lead Carpenter with a focus in cabinet work. After I graduated in 2012 I began the process of starting up my own business in kitchen remodels and entertainment centers when I felt the call to become a full time missionary. It has been an amazing two years to be able to serve God in this unique way and I look forward to what this third year will hold. I have a huge love for the outdoors and nearly any activity outside more specifically in bike riding, volleyball, hiking, fishing, rock climbing, etc.
Hello! My name is Danielle Duplechain, and I am a second year missionary here at SFA (axe'em!). I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. In May 2014, I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (hook'em!) with a double major in Sociology and International Relations. Hammocking, road trips, and laughing at funny stories are some of my favorite pastimes, and John 1 & 2 are my favorite chapters of the Bible. It has been a true honor to serve and share life with the students here at SFA, and I cannot wait to see what blessings and joy God has in store for this year!
Megan Callaghan is a first year FOCUS missionary here at SFA and is very excited for what the year may bring. Though a proud native of the great state of New York , she loves the new adventure that is Texas . She has now said "y'all" for the first time in conversation and hopes to continue to become a true Texan. She is not new to being far from home as she went over 1,200 miles to go to college. Leaving her hometown of Holmes, NY, she travelled to and studied at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS . It was in college that she was first introduced to FOCUS and was challenged to grow deeper in her relationship with God. She then graduated in May 2015 with a degree in Finance but when FOCUS called, she knew it was going to be another great adventure that God had planned for her. Aside from the excitement of being a new missionary on a warm and welcoming campus, she enjoys playing guitar, singing, reading, and just about any outside. She is grateful for the opportunity to be at SFA and looks forward
to how God will work on this campus.
